Provider: Open 2 Study (Australia) [course page]
Lecturer: Andrew Francis
Subject: Psychology / Biology
Delivery: Intake-based asynchronous study
Completion Date: 08/27/2013 (4 modules over 4 weeks)

Description: Andrew Francis teaches the foundations of Psychology, beginning with brain anatomy and finishing up with examples of treatment for maladaptive behaviour.

Strengths: Andrew Francis is a rather intelligent, competent and confidant speaker. He presents his material with lots of visual material such as images and lists by way of a tablet. This cuts down on messy writing and dodgy artwork. The course as a whole is well thought out and logically structured so that participants can have a solid understanding of the psychology foundations. The material is also quite relevant given the statistics for mental health trends in Australia and throughout the world.
Weaknesses: None.

Conclusion: The relevance of the course is something that made me enroll in the first place. The material taught far surpassed my expectations, Andrew Francis tying in various elements to give the participant a more complete understanding of what it means to be a psychologist. And the information can be understood by individuals without a scientific background.
