Book Review: Decayed Etchings by Brandon Ford

Brandon Ford’s newest release delivers 18 never-before-seen dark fiction short stories inspired by the likes of true crime and urban legends. When he offered to let me read the anthology, I jumped at the opportunity to read some new fiction. Being more familiar with his longer works, this allowed me to check out how he dealt with stuff like pacing.

Though I tend to read fiction dealing with brighter and cheerier subject matter, I was quite pleased with Decayed Etchings. Each story was well-paced, with powerful imagery that was confronting at times but expertly written. Everyone has demons, though each story deals with which ones the characters take counsel from. If you enjoy darker fiction, then Decayed Etchings is the title for you. It is not for the feint of heart.

If you’d like to learn more about Brandon Ford and his writing, you can visit Sleepless Nights, as well as follow him on Twitter or Facebook. You can pick up a copy of Decayed Etchings at Amazon and his other works wherever good books are sold.
