Music Video: Head Over Heels by Tears For Fears

When I was growing up during the 80’s, my oldest sister used to love the group, Tears For Fears. I have to say that I never really understood her obsession until recently. It is movies like Donnie Darko that have reminded us old foagies just how great these bands are even by today’s standards. There are some bands that will stand the test of time, and Tears For Fears are amongst them with their unique brand of synth-pop.

P.S. Is it just me or does the drummer really look like Simon Cowell? Spooky!

  2. Kind of sort of. You know, I’d never noticed that before 🙂

Have you seen the music video for Gary Jule’s cover of their song, “Madworld”?

    I’m a seriously big fan.

    • Nope, but it is certainly the version that folks are more familiar with these days. I seriously need to look around for the clip of the original as it seems that the album moved along the career of Tears for Fears, moving them into the mainstream.

  3. You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the original video before. You’re right though, I’ve heard Gary Jule’s cover far more frequently than the original. It probably helps that his version had some pretty solid placements. I first heard it on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. I wish I’d known that music supervisor 🙂
